The bill, SB 129, aimed to require a license for anyone who sought to operate an automobile recycling facility in the state. The bill was first introduced Jan. 19 in the Senate Transportation Committee.
On Jan 24, Transportation Committee members opted to delay further discussion on the bill while changes to the bill were made.
According to Aberdeen American News, industry officials said that there was too much ambiguity in the initial bill.
The bill was originally introduced by Royal McCracken (R-Rapid City).
