Sackers Recycling
Sackers Recycling, a ferrous and nonferrous scrap processor based in Ipswich, England, has entered a contract with UK Power Networks for removal and disposal of scrap metal and cable for recycling in London and South East England.
The team delivering the project has more than 30 years of experience in the utility and energy sector and is able to meet “diverse and rigorous requirements,” Sackers says in a news release announcing the contract.
Sackers will be processing and recycling the company’s scrap metal from all of its sites in the southeast. The initial duration of the contract will be four years with a four-year extension option.
Sackers has recently invested in a cable granulator, which enables the company to be the final processor of cable for customers like UK Power Networks, Britain’s biggest electricity distributor, and the manufacturing and engineering sector.
“We are delighted to be able to deliver this service to UK Power Networks, which we’ve started to roll out already,” says David Dodds, joint managing director at Sackers. “Our cable granulator has allowed us to offer good forefront of all our work, which ensures we can meet all their licensing and compliance needs.”
David Collis, technical and service development manager at UK Power Networks, adds, “UK Power Networks is very pleased to work with Sackers due to their excellent service and the environmental focus of their recycling processes.”
