The ferrous scrap business currently is being driven by a convergence of factors that influence its dynamic nature. From electric arc furnace capacity expansion to the movement toward low-carbon steel and consolidation, the industry is in a period of change. How these changes will impact scrap flows and demand will be explored in a session at Scrap Expo called “Commodity Focus: Ferrous.”
The session will be moderated by veteran industry reporter and pricing expert Sean Davidson, CEO of Davis Index.
Panelists include Rob Whistle, regional manager of Brazil-based steelmaker Gerdau. Also joining the panel is Steve Deacon, chief commercial officer at United Kingdom-based EMR, which has a long history in the scrap industry as one of the largest processors and traders of ferrous metals worldwide.
Bill Sulak, president of Detroit-based Ferrous Processing & Trading Co. (FPT), will bring his company’s extensive experience to the session. FPT has grown from its local roots in the Midwest to one of North America’s leading processers.
Attendees can expect a deep-dive discussion into what’s driving the ferrous scrap business today and how dealers can maximize value of their material. Experience this session and more at Scrap Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, Sept. 12-13. Learn more here.
