The Ports of Indiana announced that Behr Iron & Steel Inc. is one of two companies that will become tenants to the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor facility on Lake Michigan. The company will join 27 other companies located at the facility.
Behr Iron & Steel already works with many of the 13 steel-related companies at the port. Behr is certified ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001:1996. The company was previously located just west of the port on property owned by U.S. Steel. Behr plans to move into the new 5.5 acre site and be operational by April.
The new location will allow the company to better extend its business to include more export opportunities.
