The European Commission has granted clearance under its simplified procedure to Scholz Austria and Austria-based Voestalpine for the proposed acquisition of RPE Recyclingpark Eisenerz GmbH & Co. from Asamer Familienholding GmbH.
Currently, RPE is controlled by Asamer. However, under the approved deal, Scholz Austria, which is owned by the German group Scholz and the Austrian group Voestalpine, will have 50 percent stake in the company. The two companies will specialize in recycling and trading of recyclables, including, metal scrap, industrial waste and other materials.
