The Europe-based paper company SCA announced that it has initiated a project to close its Personal Care factory in Linselles, France as well as layoffs at the company’s Hoogezand factory in the Netherlands.
To enhance efficiency and increase competitiveness of SCA’s baby diaper business in Europe, the company plans to move its retail brand production from Linselles to Olawa, Poland, making the Polish facility the center of production for retail brand baby diapers.
The French plant is expected to close by the middle of next year and result in layoffs of around 280 employees.
SCA’s decision to reduce the number of employees at its Hoogezand plant will be made by the end of this year.
