A report by Reuters News Agency has Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget considering acquiring Cartoinvest, an Italian tissue manufacturing company.
"We are currently not represented on the Italian market and we have clearly indicated that we are interested in making acquisitions in Italy. But I cannot comment on the information about the plan to acquire Cartoinvest," said SCA’s CEO Sverker Martin-Lof.
The company, based in Sweden, has been acquiring a host of operations over the past year, with the company only recently acquiring some of the tissue operations from Georgia-Pacific, and acquiring Encore Paper Co., earlier this month.
