SCA announced that it has made a packaging acquisition in North America and is investing in a tissue machine in Colombia as well as added capacity in incontinence products.
To expand and complement SCA's North American protective packaging operations, SCA is acquiring the Alloyd Inc. packaging company in DeKalb, Ill., for around $97 million.
Alloyd is a supplier of blister packaging for U.S. consumer goods producers.
The company also announced plans to increase its tissue capacity in Colombia. The company will be adding a new tissue machine to its operations in Bogota, Colombia. The investment is being made by Familia Sancela, SCA's joint-venture company in Colombia.
The company also announced it is adding a new machine to its plant in Gennep, The Netherlands. The facility makes incontinence products.
