Sancon Resources Recovery Inc. has begun handling and processing packaging material from several facilities in Australia. The program is working in collaboration with Cleanaway, an Australian-based waste management firm.
Sancon’s program will include establishing collection centers at shopping centers in Australia. At these locations the company will collect plastic shopping bags and plastic packaging. The collected material will be reprocessed into reusable materials.
Cleanaway, with more than 65,000 commercial customers and 87 municipalities in Australia, is the country’s largest waste management operator.
"Packaging represents the largest single sector of plastics use in developed western nations. The sector on average accounts for 35 percent of plastics consumption and 61 percent of the total plastic waste is packaging, which typically has a ‘life’ of less then 12 months," said Jack Chen, CEO of Sancon. "We are proud to be a specialty plastic waste management company that can be selected by Cleanaway to provide waste material recovery solutions at these large shopping centers and commercial sites. Through our system, we ensure this waste can be properly captured and processed. Therefore, the impact of plastic waste on our environment and communities is greatly reduced for a better way of living for everyone. Sancon grows by serving customers such as Cleanaway, and strives to deliver more innovative plastics waste management solutions."
