At no cost for one-day, businesses and the general public can drop off electronic items, such as computers, mainframes, monitors, printers, cables, telephones, printed circuit boards and consumer electronics, at Lot A behind the Giants' Ballpark.
HMR is also sponsoring the Innovative Recycling Program during the June 1-June 5 WED events being held throughout San Francisco.
"We know that by maximizing the life of electronic products and through the responsible disposal of such items at the end of their life cycle, we are playing a role in the stewardship of global resources as well as protecting the environment," HMR Group CEO Randell T. Carman says.
World Environment Day (WED) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. WED is hosted every year by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition June 1 through June 5. The U. uses WED to stimulate awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and public action.
HMR USA Inc. specializes in processing a wide array of electronic material through reselling, re-use or recycling. HMR says it is committed to handling all the material in an environmentally responsible manner, a system called Zero Environmental Impact Recycling.
HMR is a stakeholder and participant in California recycling innovations like the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003, known as SB20. All three of HMR's U.S. offices are approved SB20 collectors with the HMR Central Processing facility in Sacramento also qualified as an approved recycler.
