The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has authorized a grant application for rubberized asphalt concrete paving, according to a report in the Fallbrook Bonsall Village News (Fallbrook, Calif.).
The county will submit a grant application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board. If awarded, the grant would offset up to $50,000 of the county’s rubberized asphalt concrete paving program, which has a projected cost of $3-5 million, according to the report.
The rubberized asphalt concrete paving program is among several programs the state has developed to increase the recycling of tires since their disposal in landfills was banned in 1993.
