Samsung has chosen Newgistics for its Samsung Takeback and Recycling program. The S.T.A.R. program provides consumers and businesses with a simple way to recycle Samsung toner cartridges using Newgistics’ pre-paid SmartLabel Intelligent Returns Management solution.
Samsung’s S.T.A.R. return program, begun in 2005, takes responsibility for the environmental impact of the company’s products by offering customers a free, easy-to-use recycling return program. The program safely reprocesses empty cartridges into their major usable component materials and then makes those reprocessed materials available for reuse in manufacturing a range of products.
To participate in the S.T.A.R. program, consumers simply visit www.samsung.com/starus, where they can create and print a Newgistics SmartLabel, then simply attach the label to their used toner cartridge box and tender it to any one of the more than 150 million addresses served by the United States Postal Service.
“The goal of Samsung’s S.T.A.R. program is to make cartridge recycling extremely easy for our customers, and we are achieving that with the Newgistics SmartLabel solution,” said Douglas Albregts, VP of Sales and Marketing for Samsung Electronics America, Information Technology Division. “Working with Newgistics, we expect to further increase participation in the program – which will be good for our customers, the environment and Samsung.”
