Employees from Supreme Asset Management & Recovery (SAMR), an electronics recycling and remarketing company based in Lakewood, N.J., and volunteers from LADACIN Network, a nonprofit organization that provides education, therapy, social, residential and support services for people with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities, were on hand to accept unwanted electronics and $5 donations for LADACIN Network and the Lehmann School. The Earth Day recycling event and fundraiser was sponsored by SAMR.

“It was so thoughtful of SAMR to include us in their recycling event in recognition of Earth Day 2008,” Vroman says. “The staff of LADACIN plans to use the money to purchase a video camera to tape school shows, therapy and special events, such as graduation.”
SAMR holds two recycling events each year for private citizens. Charles McFadden, vice president of business development at SAMR, says, “Our goal is to keep e-waste and all the toxic elements they contain from going into landfills. Most people are not aware that monitors and televisions alone contain three to five pounds of lead.”
