A veteran of two tours of duty with the Marines in Vietnam, Robbins lost both his hands in an accident in which a weakened power pole carrying electricity made contact with the pole line on which he was working as an employee of a local telephone company. His determination to survive helped him through a lengthy period of rehabilitation. In his presentation, Robbins uses several demonstrations to educate audiences about the role of safety in the workplace and convince them that safety is the number-one priority in their jobs.
Following Robbins’ presentation, CBS News White House Correspondent Jim Axelrod will return for his third ISRI convention to moderate a panel discussion on workplace safety and safety success. Panelists include Joe Bateman of Mervis Industries; Robert Bjerg of Levy, Seltzer and Gee, P.C.; Monica McNally of Recycle Guard Insurance/Willis of New Hampshire, Inc.; and Darrel John Wooster of Mercer Group International of New Jersey.
Advance registration is closed, but registrations will be accepted on-site in Las Vegas, beginning Sunday, April 2. For complete details and the latest program updates, go to www.isriconvention.org.
