SAF Holland Opens Parts Distribution Center in Mexico

SAF-Holland, Muskegon, Mich., a manufacturer of suspensions and fifth wheels, has opened a parts distribution center in Quetaro, Mexico. The new center is part of the company’s goal of expanding its global distribution and service network in the aftermarket business. 

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held July 10, 2013, involved SAF-Holland officials, including Detlef Borghardt, CEO; Alexander Geis, president, aftermarket business unit; and Ken Hurst, executive vice president, powered vehicle business unit.

The facility was developed to satisfy the demand for SAF-Holland aftermarket parts in Mexico. The facility is more than 12,000 square feet with more than $1 million in inventory on hand. 

The company notes that it is the fifth largest wheel supplier in Mexico. Opening the parts distribution center in Mexico will allow the company to better serve the fifth wheel market and advance opportunities for the company to further enter the truck and trailer suspension markets.

Rodolfo Sanchez, director of sales and marketing, will head the new facility. 

“Our customers appreciate our strong global network of service stations and product distribution centers. We thereby ensure the global supply of spare parts for them at all times,” says Geis.
