RWM: Event’s Organizers Report 13,000 in Attendance

RWM also announces 2012 dates and an event in India in 2013.

The organizers of the 2011 RWM in partnership with CIWM (Chartered Institution of Wastes Management) event have proclaimed the mid-September trade show “a huge success” that was “the largest ever exhibition for the waste industry [in the United Kingdom] with 13,000 visitors and over 650 exhibitors.”

During the 2011 event , show organizers also revealed plans for next year’s RWM in partnership with CIWM, which will take place at the NEC facility in Birmingham, England. Next year’s dates are Sept. 11-13.

“For 2012, it is expected that the show will increase its focus on all sectors of the waste hierarchy, with dedicated content and features focusing on reducing, reusing, recycling, recovering and disposing of waste,” the RWM show office states in a news release.

“RWM’s strength is its focus on the waste and resource industry, not in being a broader environmental show,” says event director Gerry Sherwood. “By offering networking, knowledge and products at all levels of the waste hierarchy, we can be the pre-eminent event in Europe for this important sector.”

Also at the 2011 event, RWM co-organizer Emap announced the launching of RWM India, which will take place at the Pragati Maiden exhibition center in New Delhi May 14-16, 2013.

“With an urban population of approximately 285 million and a rapidly developing economy, India is emerging as one of the most important markets in the world for resource and waste management,” says Sherwood.

The conference will be co-hosted by RWM organizer Emap and Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd., an international events organizer based in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.

The 2011 RWM in Partnership with CIWM Exhibition was in Birmingham, England, Sept. 13-15.
