A maker of travel trailers has embarked on the large-scale expansion of a manufacturing plant in northern Indiana.
Monaco Coach Corp., based in Coburg, Ore., began construction on a 150,000 sq. ft. addition at one of its two Elkhart, Ind., area plants, according to Industrial Information Resources Inc. (IIR), Houston.
The company makes motor homes and towable recreational vehicles at the plant, using a variety of metals in sheet, tube, plate, wire and other forms, generating scrap metal in the process.
The $4.25 million expansion project, scheduled for completion in mid-2003, will double capacity at the plant and add 100 jobs, according to the IIR report.
