Confidential waste and recycling company Russell Richardson, based in Attercliffe, an industrial suburb of northeast Sheffield, England, has appointed a new operations manager. Simon Harrison takes over operations of the company’s nationwide collection fleet, warehouse and its shredder, which destroys up to seven metric tons of material per hour.
The Huddersfield, U.K., native previously was a deputy manager for global logistics company XPO Logistics.
“I join Russell Richardson as it goes through a period of unprecedented growth—an exciting time,” says Simon, who will play a crucial role in the company’s forthcoming relocation to a new site in Tinsley, U.K.
The confidential shredding, archiving and recycling company is now seeing more than 200 metric tons of paper arrive at its Attercliffe headquarters each weekly—more than double that of two years ago.
The new site on Park House Lane triples the company’s base and the move will be phased over four months to avoid downtime.
Russell Richardson Managing Director Jonathan Richardson says, “Simon’s skills have been honed with a multinational company and make him a major asset to the team. He has many years of experience and has managed large teams, and his background in engineering is another major benefit to us.”
A family-run firm, Russell Richardson has a turnover of £2.5 million annually. Its fleet of mobile shredding trucks and collection vehicles operate daily throughout the U.K.
