Rumpke Waste & Recycling, Cincinnati, has been recognized by the Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR) and the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Buckeye (Ohio) Chapter for its contributions to the recycling industry in Ohio over the past 25 years.
The awards were presented during the AOR/SWANA joint conference in late October 2014. Bill Rumpke Jr., CEO of Rumpke, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Recycling is a core aspect of our business, and we have made significant investments to improve recycling opportunities for our customers,” Rumpke said in accepting the award.
“Rumpke has always been devoted to advancing recycling in Ohio,” said Steve Sargent, Rumpke’s director of recycling. “We’re proud to have been part of many successful recycling programs for communities and businesses across the state.”
In addition to Rumpke’s award, Sargent, who has served as the director of recycling for Rumpke since it was founded in 1989, received an individual award for his influence on recycling in Ohio.
The company owns and operates 10 recycling centers in Ohio and Kentucky, including single-stream processing facilities in Columbus and Cincinnati and a glass processing plant in Dayton, Ohio.
