For the sixth consecutive year, Rumpke, a Cincinnati-based company, has been selected as a US Best Managed Company, maintaining its Gold status.
The US Best Managed Companies list is sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal. The 2025 designees are U.S. private companies demonstrating excellence in strategic planning and execution, a commitment to their people, and maintaining financial performance and governance. Advanced technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), took a center role for most of these companies, creating efficiencies and enhancing the quality of their products and experiences.
External judges reviewed hallmarks of excellence in four key areas,: strategy, ability to execute, corporate culture and governance/financial performance, to identify winners. Rumpke has joined only 60 other businesses to earn the designation as a U.S. Best Managed Company.
“It’s all of us working every day while using our company values of teamwork, quality, perseverance, growth and responsibility as a guide to innovate and provide complete solutions to our customers,” President and CEO Bill Rumpke Jr. says.
The Cincinnati Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth also honored Rumpke with a Deal Maker Award.
The Deal Maker Award recognizes outstanding organizations and individuals with proven records of leadership, innovation, and success through the art of the deal. According to the company, in 2024 Rumpke averaged about one acquisition per month, securing two landfills, multiple hauling operations and approximately 150 employees. The company states that Rumpke’s revenues topped $1.2 billion.
This is Rumpke’s second Deal Maker Award.
The Association for Corporate Growth is comprised of middle-market private equity and business leaders focused on corporate growth and M&A.
Rumpke also was recognized as a Cincinnati Business Courier Fast 55 honoree. 2025’s Fast 55 represent a compilation of industries that excelled financially and achieved significant growth, topping the list of Cincinnati’s fastest- growing companies.
