Recycling Services Inc. (RSI), Chicago, is among the companies working in cooperation with SCA Tissue to publicize SCA’s recycled-content commercial tissue products to customers who generate scrap paper.
On the “Closed Loop” section of its Web site, RSI states, “Recycling Services has a longstanding and highly respected relationship with SCA Tissue,” and urges its corporate customers to “become an environmental steward by using SCA’s Tork brand products in your facility and close the loop of sustainability.”
RSI also lets its customers know that “the paper collected by Recycling Services is transformed into new product at an SCA paper mill in Menasha, Wis. The proximity of the Menasha mill, only 160 miles from Recycling Services’ processing plant, reduces the number of miles that fiber must travel before entering its second life, minimizing the size of your carbon footprint.”
Regarding SCA’s Tork products, RSI notes that they are made from 100 percent recycled-content feedstock, and states, “Tork dispensing systems control consumption and reduce waste, which cuts down on your costs. Closing the loop brings added attention to your recycling program, in turn increasing your recycling rates. Using Tork products and closing the loop also contributes points toward LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.”
A speaker from SCA Tissue will be providing an overview of the North American tissue industry and its use of scrap paper on Monday, June 14, at the Paper Recycling Conference in Chicago.
Later that same day at the Conference, RSI’s Mike Finn and Tomas Vujovic will offer a safety-related presentation along with John Gilstrap, director of safety of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI).
