The consulting firm RRS, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has announced that Michael Timpane has joined the company as affiliate vice president, effective immediately.
Timpane joins RRS from Waste Management Inc. where he served as director of municipal recycling and diversion. In that position, Timpane provided technical recycling and diversion procurement, business development for greenfield expansion and plant infrastructure projects, as well as long-term field strategy and implementation for single-stream, construction and demolition (C&D) and landfill diversion projects.
Timpane began his career in 1975 at Reynolds Aluminum where he managed more than 100 recycling locations in three states. Timpane also served as area vice president for BFI (now Republic Industries), as well as eastern region sales director for 3E Co.
With RRS, Timpane will work with both profit and nonprofit waste and recycling industry members, as well as implementing his understanding of municipal programs, corporate recycling and landfill diversion programs, to further develop market growth and to support client projects.
“Michael has a deep knowledge and long track record in developing processes, materials and markets needed for successful recovery project execution,” says Jim Frey, RRS’ principal and CEO. “We believe his 30 years of industry experience, coupled with his expertise in key emerging areas, will further bolster RRS’ current strong capabilities in waste and organics recovery, as well as lead to new market opportunities.”
