Round2, Grand Prairie, Texas, has announced the acquisition of PolymerCycle LLC, a national processor and reseller of plastics, including ABS, PC/ABS, HIPS and PC. The company says the acquisition complements its “strategy to deliver a closed-loop recycling solution for processing e-waste.”
Effective immediately, PolymerCycle is operating as a wholly owned company from Round2’s 183,000-square-foot facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, which also includes Round2 Monitex, the company’s CRT recycling division.
Ian Bagnall, CEO of Round2, says, “Historically the plastic by-products from electronics recycling have created unanswered questions for electronic recyclers. Round2 is now able to remove one more barrier to delivering an economical recycling solution to Fortune 1,000 companies that is environmentally responsible.” He adds, “Our complete solution is a single point of disposition and reuse for several types of plastics.”
PolymerCycle, also based in Grand Prairie, Texas, identifies, sorts and granulates plastics for reuse in the manufacturing of new products.
In addition, PolymerCycle can create custom programs for clients.
Ron Sherga, vice president of sales for PolymerCycle, says, “Our process adds value to the plastic life cycle by introducing market competitive materials that challenge virgin resin. We serve an innovative market segment that seeks clean, raw material feedstock with a recycled history.”
