Rockaway Recycling, Rockaway, N.J., has donated $1,000 as a primary sponsor for a golf outing benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event was held Sept. 14 at Skyview Golf Club in Sparta, N.J.
Donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has become a regular occurrence for Tom Buechel, owner of Rockaway Recycling.
“One of the main reasons that I donate to St. Jude's is the cause,” Buechel says. “As a former kid who was able to go outside and play, not worry about constant hospital visits or being sick, the children who are treated at St. Jude's have a place in my heart because they long for that chance.”
The family-run business is also hosting their semi-annual Customer Appreciation BBQ on Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 7 a.m. to noon. The event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Residents can sell their scrap metal to be recycled, while enjoying free breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. For every item consumed, Rockaway Recycling will donate $1 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
