Rock-Tenn Paperboard Division announced price increases on all recycled paperboard grades produced by the company. Starting with shipments October 17, 2005, the increase in transaction price by grade will be $40 per ton for corrugating medium, $35 per ton on clay coated recycled board, and $30 per ton for uncoated recycled board.
Additionally, freight and fuel energy surcharges will be discussed with customers on an individual basis. "These increases only partially recover the cost increases we have absorbed, but reflect the staggering and unpredictable market prices we are paying for boiler fuels, petroleum based chemicals and freight. The final severity and duration of these cost increases are uncertain," said David Dreibelbis, executive vice president and GM of the Paperboard Division.
