Riverside Products Inc., based in Bettendorf, Iowa, has launched its new Carbon Series product line. The company manufacturers parts for the auto shredder industry, including rotors, hammers and bearing housings.
After several years of research and development, the first product in the series, the Carbon Series Alloy Hammer, was introduced during The Insitute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) 2012 Convention and Exhibition. At Riverside’s ISRI booth, the company also displayed a full-size rotor.
The company’s Carbon Series Alloy Hammers are available exclusively through Riverside Products for 60-85 through 98-104 rotors. According to Riverside, every aspect of the Carbon Series Alloy Hammer has been custom engineered to reduce throw-away weight.
The strategically placed lifting eyes are designed to allow for fast and convenient change out times. The company also says the progressive design features of the Carbon Series Alloy Hammers create optimum shredding performance with weight in all the right areas. Furthermore, unique material properties in the Carbon Series Alloy Hammers are intended to work with the optimized hammer design to provide the one of the longest lasting hammers in the industry, the company says.
The company says it conducted extensive field trials and sold nearly 300 hammers in the first week of the launch.
