RISI Acquires EU Consulting

RISI, an information provider for the global forest products industry, has acquired the Europe-based tissue news, analysis and forecasting business EU Consulting.

John Day, CEO of RISI said, "The acquisition of EU Consulting continues RISI’s strategy of acquiring selected companies that move us toward the goal of being the unquestioned leader in each of the industries we serve."

EU Consulting was founded by Esko Uutela in 1994. The business specializes in offering consulting services for tissue, recovered paper and consumer packaging markets, carrying out numerous private client projects and publishing comprehensive multi-client studies on tissue business developments.

This move adds EU Consulting’s publications, World Tissue Business Monitor and Outlook for the World Tissue Business to RISI’s tissue portfolio, which currently includes the Tissue Monitor and World Tissue Forecast. EU Consulting’s Outlook for Global Recovered Paper Markets will also supplement RISI’s recovered paper and fiber business. Uutela, an industry expert with over 30 years of experience, will continue to be actively involved in the day-to-day activities of the publications and in RISI’s tissue and recovered paper businesses.
