Rifkin Iron and Metal, Saginaw, Mich., has chosen the equipment company Wendt Corp. to help it install a complete nonferrous plant upgrade.
According to Wendt, the new non ferrous plant has been designed around two Wendt/TiTech Finders, which include Suppix technology sensing coils. The coils will allow Rifkin to recover close to 99 percent of all available free metal and insulated copper wire. Of equal importance to Rifkin was the two-tier stacked layout, which minimizes the overall footprint and reduces operating costs.
In choosing Wendt, David Rifkin, president of Rifkin Iron & Metal, says, “Our primary goals for this project included virtually eliminating any metal loss in our landfill stream, recovering the available insulated copper wire to capitalize on a new market and provide ourselves with a way to be more competitive in the ever changing marketplace. We chose Wendt because we have seen the performance of their products in the field and the unique commitment and ability of their team to create a plant that fits our needs.”
Wendt, headquartered in Tonawanda, N.Y., is a manufacturer and supplier of processing equipment and solutions.
