Ricoh Corp., a leading provider of digital office equipment, will host an
"Employee Electronics Collection Program" in conjunction with America Recycles Day on Nov. 15. Employees at all Ricoh New Jersey facilities in Pine Brook, Fairfield and West Caldwell are invited to participate in the collection event Tuesday, Nov. 16.
Ricoh will set up collection sites at its facilities for employees to drop off unwanted computers, keyboards, televisions, modems, fax machines, printers, scanners, handheld games, telephones, cell phones, cameras, pagers, VCRs, tape decks, CD players, movie projectors, tape recorders, radios and other electronic products.
"We are extremely proud to be participating in a day dedicated solely to
recycling since it supports Ricoh's environmental philosophy of our earth, our
tomorrow," Sam Ichioka, chairman and CEO of Ricoh Corp., says. "Ricoh
Corp. continues to lead in creating environmentally friendly products,
and we are committed to protecting and preserving our world's natural
resources for generations to come."
America Recycles Day is a national program that started eight years ago to
promote public awareness and participation in recycling. It is a partnership
between private industry, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Conference of Mayors, among other organizations.
Ricoh Corp., headquartered in West Caldwell, N.J., is a subsidiary
of Ricoh Company Ltd., the 68-year-old leading supplier of office automation
equipment and electronics, with fiscal year 2003 sales in excess of $17.1
billion.
The company has received the Energy Star Imaging Partner of the Year
Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) -- the EPA's highest Energy Star award -- for 5 years in a row from 1996 to 2000. In addition, Ricoh was honored for its commitment to the environment with the
Council on Economic Priorities Environmental Stewardship Award.
