The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation has received an award from Anheuser-Busch for the quality of the recycled aluminum the Johnston company ships to the beer maker for reuse.
To mark the honor, representatives of Anheuser-Busch presented Resource Recovery officials with a ceramic statue of a bald eagle, the beer company's corporate logo, this summer.
Last year, Rhode Islanders recycled 1.9 million pounds of aluminum, most of it beverage cans, according to Resource Recovery.
