Description: The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, supplies, transportation, refuse containers, specialty containers, equipment and management services except for Government-Owned Equipment identified in these specifications necessary to collect and dispose of Disposable Solid Waste. This includes, but is not limited to: Processable Solid Waste, Non-Processable Solid Waste, which includes the collection and disposal of garbage, debris, rubbish, tires and other discarded burnable and non burnable solid wastes, sandblast grit, dry dock mud, and white goods resulting from residential, industrial, commercial, community activities, as specified in the specifications and drawings attached hereto.

The contractor shall operate and maintain a Government furnished tipping platform facility for the purpose of segregating minor amounts of processable solid waste, non-processable waste (inclusive of tires, empty paint cans and drums), salvageable metals, recyclable paper and cardboard, freon recovery, and other services as described herein.

The contractor shall recycle all recyclable items such as but not limited to: salvageable metals, paper, cardboard, etc. contract requirements include the relocation of containers, street sweeping, cleaning of grounds and streets, collection and delivery of abestos and gas cylinders.

The contractor shall be required to submit records, logs, data, inventory, estimates and perform indefinite quantity work items as designated by the Contracting Officer.

Excluded from this function is collection and disposal of: (1) hazardous waste, (2) solids or dissolved materials in domestic sewage, (3) infectious/medical wastes.

The work identified to be provided by means of a combination Firm-Fixed-Price and Indefinite Quantity Contract. The contract term shall be for a period of one year.

The Government shall have the option to extend the term of the contract services for additional periods of one to twelve months. The total contract term, including exercise of any options, shall not exceed 60 months.

The estimated Bid Opening Date is March 15, 2002. This solicitation will be available in electronic format only. All documents will be in the Adobe Acrobat file format via the Internet.
