Restore Earns Environmental Recognition

The Washington Department of Ecology will present an Environmental Excellence Award to Rich Kallenberger, founder of Restore, a Habitat for Humanity secondhand materials store in Yakima, Wash., the store, and to the local Habitat for Humanity chapter.

"The ReStore is a great resource for the Yakima Valley," said Loretta Zammarchi, with Yakima County's solid-waste program. "Now, re-usable building materials, bath tubs and other fixtures are available to people at a reasonable price, rather than taking up space in the landfill."
