Waste solutions provider Resources by EWS (RBEWS) and Hillsboro, Oregan-based Entro Industries, a systems engineering company, have introduced the HSS L65T Tipper, a 65-ton landfill tipper engineered specifically for the waste and recycling industry.

The companies say this is a purpose-built solution designed for landfills, material recovery facilities (MRFs), transfer stations, compost facilities and other high-demand environments where safety, uptime and operational efficiency are critical.

The HSS L65T is a true 65-ton machine, not a reconfigured 50-ton unit, and is engineered to meet modern operational demands. Design elements include:

  • verified lock-out and pin-out front outrigger design;

  • 55.5-foot cab placement ahead of the backstop;

  • fabricated box-beam structural construction for long-term integrity;

  • structural and safety components;

  • improved machine stiffness;

  • insulated cab with reinforced base design;

  • reduced hydraulic connection points for improved reliability;

  • centralized controls within the cab; and

  • designed life expectancy of 20 years, or 2,000,000 cycles (fatigue-engineered).

“This isn’t just a re-nameplated 50-ton machine—it’s purpose-engineered for actual North American operations,” says Shawn R. Smith, Entro president. “Every component is sourced from North American and European suppliers, ensuring long-term parts availability and service continuity. We’re solving an industry crisis while raising the bar on safety for the men and women who operate these machines daily.”

Smith says he and his father, Harlan Smith, dedicated thousands of hours to rethinking landfill tippers to create a machine that addresses long-standing frustrations within the market.

Development began in early 2025 and was built upon 15 years of market research, on-site inspections and commissioning of existing machines and direct feedback from operators, managers and safety directors.

“I work with operators who are having issues with their equipment almost daily,” says Scott Haynes, RBEWS vice president. “Often, they are unable to source critical components quickly or even receive a return phone call. Operators and directors are excited to see new machinery that genuinely addresses their concerns about long-term reliability, especially given the challenges our industry has faced with existing platforms.”

The HSS L65T is available with multiple configurations and options, including hydraulic handrails and front outriggers, HVAC systems with advanced filtration options, multiple deck lengths, customizable safety and operational features, dollies and additional development options.

RBEWS will provide comprehensive sales, service, inspection and lifecycle support throughout North America, with additional support through LMR Tipper Services.
