Resource Recycling Systems (RRS), Ann Arbor, Michigan, has been awarded a Schedule 899 environmental consulting contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the procurement arm of the federal government.
According to RRS, the five-year contract allows federal customers to efficiently purchase environmental consulting services from the company. As a GSA Schedule 899 vendor, RRS says it can provide government agencies with services such as waste management and organics planning, recycling feasibility studies, biomass supply planning, sustainability assessments, risk analysis, data collection, GIS (geographic information system) routing and infrastructure mapping, as well as outreach, education and communications.
The GSA establishes long-term governmentwide contracts with commercial companies. As a preapproved vendor, RRS says it extends numerous benefits, including cost-effectiveness, to various agencies and branches of the federal government, as well as to state and local governments, through applicable programs. In addition, RRS’ status as a small business enables the federal government and prime contractors to meet socioeconomic goals.
“It is a proud moment for our small business to be a contributor to the environmental success of our government,” says Jim Frey, CEO of RRS. “Through the GSA schedule program, RRS is able to streamline the procurement process and help government agencies concentrate on the task at hand—impacting environmental challenges.”
Federal, state and local agencies can obtain information about RRS’ GSA Schedule 899 (contract number GS-10F-038CA) contract services on the GSA Advantage website at www.gsaadvantage.gov/advantage/main/start_page.do or by contacting RRS directly at GSAservices@recycle.com. RRS services are offered under the Special Item Number (SIN) 899-1, Environmental Consulting Services. The contract award is effective Jan. 10, 2015, to Jan. 9, 2020.
