Ann Arbor, Michigan-based sustainability and recycling consultancy Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) has announced that Greg Peverall has joined the firm as associate senior consultant. In his role at RRS, Peverall will use his solid waste and recycling experience to provide technical and strategic client support and will contribute to communications and business development activities, the company says.
Formerly vice president of business development at WasteZero Inc., Raleigh, North Carolina, Peverall was key in marketing and designing pay-as-you-throw collection techniques in major municipalities in that state, RRS says.
He has held positions with Waste Management, most recently as director of market area development, South Atlantic area, where he managed a book of business in excess of $100 million and existing regional landfill agreements in addition to planning the development of a 30,000-tons-per-year single-stream material recovery facility.
Peverall’s previous Waste Management positions included landfill development and operations management as a company consultant, promoting new regional landfill development projects and lobbying political leaders on solid waste and recycling regulatory and rule improvements, and as state president, managing hauling sites, transfer stations, material recovery facilities and company landfills in a four-state area.
In addition to his solid waste and recycling work, Peverall is involved with several industry associations, including the Carolina Recycling Association (past board member), the Southeast Recycling Development Council, the Georgia Recycling Coalition, the National Solid Waste Management Association (past chapter and member chair) and the Solid Waste Association of North America.
Peverall will operate out of the Winston Salem, North Carolina, area.
