Refuse Removal & Recycling for Residential Arease

Description: The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, and transportation to perform all operations of curbside collection of residential waste and recyclable items for six (6) quarters at Edson Drive and fifty-five (55) quarters at Site A area. Provide three (3) each 8 cubic yard containers for residential waste and six (6) each 90 gallon toters for recyclable items for twenty (20) quarters at Site B area. Provide two (2) each 8 cubic yard containers for residential waste and four (4) each 90 gallon toters for recyclable for eleven (11) quarters at Site Z area.

The contractor shall be properly licensed and all collection, transportation, recycling and disposal shall be performed in accordance with the Pennsylvania Solid Waste Management, Pennsylvania Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling, and Waste Reduction Act, and applicable Hampden Township ordinances, rules, and regulations. Number of bid items: Five (5) with unit price schedule. NAICS Code 562111, garbage collection services and recyclable material collection services, $10.5 Million.

Prospective contractors must register in the DOD Central Contractor Registration Database prior to award. Bidders are notified that failure to register may render their firm ineligible for award. Specifications and drawings will not be directly provided in a paper hard copy format or CD-ROM. The address for downloading this solicitation from the internet is http://esol.navfac.navy.mil.

All prospective bidders are encouraged to register on the above web site for this procurement when specifications and drawings become available. Plan holders will be maintained on and can be printed from the web site. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (i.e. amendments) shall be made only on the web site. It is the bidder's responsibility to check the web site daily for any posted changes to the solicitation. This acquisition shall be unrestricted.

This acquisition shall utilize the simplified acquisition procedures with a bidding period of 15 days. Funds are not presently available for this contract.

The Government’s obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer. Construct Recycle Storage Facility

Maintenance, repair, and alteration of real property

Description: This project involves constructing a 4,200 SF expansion of an existing 1,225 SF storage facility. The new improvements will be slab-on-grade, CMU construction with stucco finish and concrete tile roof. Major aspects of work include site utility improvements, fire suppression systems, plumbing, and electrical service.

The Request for Proposal will be available on or about July 29, 2002. Request for Proposal will close on or about Aug. 28, 2002. Performance period is 210 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open competition for both Large and Small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The Request for Proposal is available by electronic transmission ONLY. Potential contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry to be eligible for award. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.

Newspaper/Magazine Recycling Program

Description: This is a notice of intent to enter into a no cost agreement with The News & Observer, 215 South McDowell Street, Post Office Box 191, Raleigh, NC 27602 to provide newspaper/magazine recycling service at Fort Bragg, NC for a base period of one year with fo ur one-year option periods.

The News and Observer will provide containers at approximately 15 Government-designated sites throughout the installation, collect from containers on a mutually agreed basis, keep area around containers in a neat and orderly ma nner, and dispose of collection off the installation at no cost to the Government. Interested parties may identify interest and capability by submitting technical data within 15 days of publication of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request f or competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 15 days of publication of this synopsis.

Removal And Disposal Of Scrap Rubber Tires, And Rubber Tires On Rims

Description: Contractor shall provide labor, supervision, equipment, transportation, and permits required for the removal and disposal of scrap rubber tires, and rubber tires on rims, from the Solid Waste, Recycle and Pollution Prevention Center, Building 1209, Fort Eu stis, VA.

The contactor shall dispose of the tires at an off post location in accordance with Federal, state and local laws and environmental rules and regulations. The period of performance is for a base year and four, one-year option periods.

Base year is projected to begin on Oct. 1, 2002 and end on Sept. 30, 2003. If all option periods are exercised, the contract will end on 30 September 2007. NAICS 421930, 100 employees applies. See Numbered Note 1.
