The National Park Service, Yosemite National Park, (YOSE) has identified a requirement for a five (5) year (one base year, four option years) contract to collect and transport all of the designated recycling materials from specified locations within Yosemite National Park and the El Portal Administrative Sites. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of Interiors (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) web site at http://www.ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Interested contractors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the web site. Contractors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://www.ideasec.nbc.gov. " Project Description: The anticipated order includes, but is not limited to the following: a five (5) year (one base year, four option years) contract to collect recycling materials from 66 recycling Collections Stations (CS) throughout Yosemite National Park (YNP) and the El Portal Administrative Sites. The Collection Station will consist of four (4) to eight (8) 32-gallon containers, one (1) to three (3) four yard bins or a combination of one (1) four yard bin and one (1) six yard bin. The stations with 32-gallon containers are for the collection of aluminum, glass and plastic recyclables. The stations with four yard bins are for co-mingled aluminum, bi-metal cans, glass, plastic recyclables, newspaper, magazines, office paper, telephone books, cardboard and chipboard. The six yard bins are for cardboard only. Other recyclable materials may be added to the collection station, as acceptable items, if agreed upon by YNP and the contractor. See Attachment B for a list of locations and quantities of recycling containers. All containers are bear proof and labeled for the type of recycling to be collected at each site. Recycling materials deposited into these containers are generated from park visitors, employees and residences.

This procurement is designated as a Full & Open.. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued o/a February 27, 2009 with a closing date of o/a March 31, 2009.

Scrap Metal Baling/Logging Equipment

The Rock Island Contracting Center intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) W52P1J-09-R-0023 to the Army Single Face to Industry Web (ASFI) at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ on or about January 20, 2009. This is an estimated date only and may be subject to change. This RFP is for the acquisition of one (1) Scrap Metal Bailer/Logger Equipment with an option to purchase one (1) additional Scrap Metal Bailer/Logger. The option may be exercised within 12 months of contract award. The specifications listed below are mandatory to meet the requirements of the metal baling/logging equipment that will be solicited in this RFP:

-The equipment must come with 540 degree crane rotation

-The equipment must have one man operation capability

-The equipment must be easily transportable and legal to travel along all public highways.

-The equipment must be an all in one system that has a self contained crane and power generator.

-12 month service agreement for entire machine

-5 year warranty on engine

-Service manuals must come with the equipment

-The metal crushing equipment must be able to bale/log scrap metal at an estimated rate of at least 15 tons per hour.

This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102(a)(1); therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Website at the following address via the internet: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto.
