St. Charles County is seeking bids for Loading, Transporting, Recycling And Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste. The vendor must guarantee the quoted prices for a period of one year. The County, with the consent of the vendor, shall have the option for two (2) one year extensions under the same terms and conditions. The county reserves the right to terminate the contract for any violation, by the successful bidder, of any term or condition of the contract by giving thirty (30) days written notice stating the reasons therefore and giving the party time to remedy any deficiencies.

Collection Of Scrap Metal And White Goods

Elko Solid Waste Facility, Elko, Nevada

The Elko City Council is requesting proposals from qualified firms and/or individuals to perform scrap metal and white goods collection services for the City of Elko Solid Waste Facility on an as needed basis.

The City of Elko operates a Class I Landfill located at 2200 Pinion Road, Elko, Nevada. Scrap metal and white goods are separated on site by Elko Solid Waste Facility personnel.

Proposals are for an independent contractor to perform on site collection and removal of scrap metal and white goods at the landfill. Contractor shall pay their own FICA, Social Security, Workers Compensation, and unemployment obligations. Contractor shall supply, at his own expense, liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000.00 naming the City of Elko as additional insured. Contractor shall at all times conform to all applicable State and Federal laws and regulation. In addition, contractor shall be at all times properly licensed and certified by the appropriate agencies for the type of work performed, to include a City of Elko business license.

Anticipated duration of the contract shall be two (2) years. Contractor shall conduct all activities during normal business hours at the landfill.

Proposals shall be price per ton paid to the City of Elko less any contractor expenses.

The City of Elko reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or accept the proposal most advantageous to the City of Elko. Proposals must be received by 3:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Elko City Clerk's office, 1751 College Avenue, Elko, Nevada 89801. All proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelop and legibly marked "PROPOSAL FOR COLLECTION OF SCRAP METAL AND WHITE GOODS." City staff shall thoroughly review all proposals prior to making a written recommendation for award to the Elko City Council.

The City Council may formally award the contract to the successful bidder at their regularly scheduled meeting in City Hall on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 after 4:00 PM, local time.

The Southern Region Contracting Center-East, Fort McPherson, GA is conducting market research to determine the interest and capabilities of firms to perform solid waste collection, disposal and recycling services at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
