Description: This is a sources sought notice (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5) to determine the capability of potential hubzone, small disadvantaged veteran ownED or small business sources.
This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA to identify hubzone, small disadvantaged veteran owned or small business sources capable of providing Refuse Collection, Disposal, and Recycling Services to be performed at USCG Air Station Cape Cod, MA for a base period plus four option periods, not to exceed 60 months, if exercised by the Government, beginning 01 October 2006.
A solicitation will be issued shortly and will be synopsized on the Government Electronic Posting System at www.fbo.gov. When issued the solicitation will appear on the MLCLANT Web site http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/fdiv/fdiv.html. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these avenues for release of any future solicitation or synopsis.
The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and supervision to perform refuse collection services at the USCG Air Station Cape Cod, MA. The work consists of providing scheduled and unscheduled refuse collection and disposal services in residential and commercial areas in addition to delivering and collecting 30 cubic yard containers used for the disposal of bulk waste.
The applicable NAICS Code is 562111 (Solid Waste Collection) with a small business size standard of $11.5 million. For the calculation of annual receipts and number of employees see parts 121.104 and 121.106 in SBA’s Small Business Size Regulations, http://www.sba.gov/regulations/121/.

Description: The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires a contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, secured vehicles, supervision, and other items and services necessary to provide off-site sensitive paper destruction services and recycling of SSA administrative, classified, and sensitive documents from buildings in the Baltimore, Maryland area for the Social Security Administration.
Materials for destruction may include: white and mixed paper, shredded office paper, both white and mixed color, bond paper, post-it notes, computer paper, envelopes, forms, and newspapers.
It is the intention of this contract that all materials, both shredded and whole, must be shredded by the contractor before recycling. The contractor shall provide shredding of all sensitive paper by a “crisscross” shredding device or other acceptable method. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, transportation, supervision, etc., to remove and recycle the recyclable materials generated by the Social Security Administration. Recyclable items shall be picked up as part of the paper shredding pickups. Recyclable materials are intended to be recycled and cannot be land filled or disposed of in any manner other than to recycle. Contractor shall provide written documentation that the recyclable materials have been sent to a recycling facility. The term of the contract shall be a base period of one (1) year and four one year option periods with an expected start date of August 1, 2006.
This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside.
The NAICS Code for this procurement will be 562920 with its associated small business size standard of $11.5 million. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.
