Refuse Removal Services for the VAMC, St. Louis, MO

Description: The Veterans Administration is seeking a contractor to provide necessary labor and equipment for complete refuse removal and recycling service through the use of sanitary containers, special waste containers, recycling containers and compaction units for both divisions of the VA Medical Center (John Cochran Division and Jefferson Barrachs), VA Outreach Center, and Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

The resulting contract will be for a base year and 4 (four) option periods. A site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 9:30am. Vendors should meet in the Engineering Conference Room, Building 18, Rm. 1-104, Jefferson Barracks Division.

Description: Containers - This solicitation incorporates the requirement of the Environmental Protection Agency Guideline, Paper Products Recovered Materials Advisory Notice  under authority of sections 2002(a) and 6002 of the Solid Waste Disposal Act,as amended by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 6912(a) and 6962, and Executive Order 13101 "Greening the Government Through Waste Prevention, Recycling, and Federal Acquisition" issue September 14, 1998.

All Corrugated Containers and Mailing Boards provided in response to this solicitation must have a Minimum Postconsumer Fiber Content of 35 percent. Sealed proposals will be received until 10:00 a.m. , prevailing Washington, DC time, Feburary 21, 2003, in the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC for furnishing containers and mailing boards for the use of the Government Printing Office for the term of six months beginning April 1, 2003.

Invitations for Bid may be obtained by addressing the Contracting Officer. The estimated quantities for containers and mailing boards in the schedule comprise: 192,000 corrugated containers, 8,000 mailing boards, 20,000 die-cut regular slotted containers and 420 triple wall containers.
