The City Council of the City of Hawthorne, Calif., approved a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the City's Commercial / Industrial Refuse and Recycling Services.

City staff formally released the Council approved RFP on Tuesday July 16th. Sealed proposals will be due hand-delivered or by U.S. Mail to the Hawthorne City Clerk by 4:00 pm on Tuesday September 17, 2002.

City staff has received 38 formal Expressions of Interest from waste haulers and/or recycling companies. City staff will continue to accept bids.

Expressions of Interest up until the closing of the proposal period, 4:00 pm September 17th 2002. RFPs can be requested by e-mail at the following address: dirpubwk@earthlink.net or downloaded from the City's web site at:         http://www.cityofhawthorne.com/psrv_hawrcy-proj.htm.
