Republic Services recognized in Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

The company's sustainability efforts were recognized for a third year in a row.


Republic Services, Inc., Phoenix, announces the company has been named to both the 2018 Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America Indiceswhich measure the performance of the world’s sustainability leaders. The indices evaluate companies in terms of economic, environmental and social objectives in their operations and provide a platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices.

Only companies that lead their industries based on this assessment are included in the indices.

Republic Services earned the top score in governance, stakeholder engagement and talent attraction and retention categories. The company was recognized with the Gold Class award in the 2018 RobecoSAM's Sustainability Yearbook, a comprehensive ranking of the world's most sustainable companies. Republic was also named to both the Barron's 100 Most Sustainable Companies list and the Ethisphere Institute's World's Most Ethical Companies list for the second year in a row.
