Republic Services, headquartered in Phoenix, will hold the official grand opening of its Newby Island Resource Recovery Park in Milpitas, Calif., which the company describes as the largest recycling operation in the world. The ceremony will take place Aug. 9, 2012.
When fully operational, the facility will be able to process up to 110 tons of multiple solid waste per hour, including all of the commercial waste generated by businesses in the city of San Jose, Calif.
