Germany-based recycling and waste firm Remondis has acquired the recycling and waste activities of Rutgers Milieu BV, based in the Netherlands. The deal was officially completed Dec. 1, 2018.
Rutgers Milieu, which has been involved in the collection and processing of waste and recyclables since 2007, specializes in handling and recycling plastic and fire extinguishers.
“Remondis is a logical choice for us,” says Rienko Rutgers, director and owner of Rutgers Milieu. “We want to specialize further in the niche market of fire extinguishers dismantling and the processing of plastics.”
He continues, “Remondis is known to us as a company from the region we already work with. On the basis of this cooperation, the sale of the waste collection activities was a logical choice and, more importantly, the best option for our customers.”
Remarks Jan Kempers, regional director of Remondis Netherlands, “We are pleased with the acquisition of Rutgers Milieu’s customers. In terms of customer approach, both companies are very compatible. We also have strong regional involvement and can deliver added value through our total package of services. Currently the implementation is taking place and it is progressing well.”
