Rehrig Pacific Enhances its Software Program

Company says upgrades to software program will save users money and time.

Rehrig Pacific Co., a provider of logistics and supply chain management, reusable transport packaging, environmental waste and recycling collection containers and asset tracking solutions has introduced technology upgrades to its Container Asset Recovery Tracking System (C.A.R.T.S.) software program for municipalities and waste haulers.

The C.A.R.T.S. technology, developed by Rehrig Pacific’s Environmental Services Group, is an Internet-based software solution for asset management, real-time collection service tracking and account audits. The company says that by using Rehrig Pacific’s RFID technology, in conjunction with C.A.R.T.S. to track container collection data, cities and haulers can obtain significant savings in container capital loss and recoup service revenue by identifying non-paying accounts. More than 2.8 million Rehrig Pacific’s RFID enabled containers currently exist at more than 70 locations in North America.

Rehrig Pacific’s recent upgrades to the C.A.R.T.S. software allow for the ability to track lost and/or stolen containers in a particular service area in real time. “With Rehrig’s C.A.R.T.S. technology, we are able to be more proactive rather than reactive with our customer service, and it also allows us to better manage our assets and prevent the city from thousands of dollars in capital and service revenue loss each year. The system notifies us of an unauthorized container move, and we are able to correct the issue before it becomes an added cost to the city.” says Jeffrey Wood, manager of Solid Waste, Public Works Department for Lakeland, Fla.
