The Environmental Protection Agency, Region 4, has announced its support of several upcoming consumer electronics recycling collection events sponsored by Hewlett Packard.
WeRecycle!, Inc., Hewlett Packard (HP), and Wal-Mart will hold 12 consumer electronics recycling collection events at Wal-Mart stores throughout the Southeast during this month. The events will be free for residents in the surrounding communities.
The following communities will have events during February:
Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Brooksville, Fla., Columbus, Ga., Augusta, Ga. - February 3;
Rome, Ga., Valdosta, Ga., Douglasville, Ga., North Charleston, S.C., - February 10;
Greensboro, N.C., Hickory, N.C., Kannapolis, N.C., Hendersonville, N.C., - February 24.
Residents can bring used computers, monitors, printers, VCRs, scanners, copiers, fax machines, DVD players, and cell phones. All brands of used computers and electronic equipment, up to five items per car, will be accepted. The following items will not be accepted at this event: TVs, home appliances, household chemicals or other chemicals of any kind.
