Red River Waste Solutions, an Oklahoma corporation based in Texas, has been awarded the contract to handle curbside recycling collection for Tulsa, Okla.
Red River Waste Solutions has been in operations for more than 55 years.
"The Tulsa market is one we have been actively pursuing for several years," says David Cooper, vice president of marketing. "We will bring our customary high level of service and can-do attitude to Tulsa as we establish ourselves as their newest corporate citizen."
Tulsa has an estimated population of 385,635.
Red River will begin curbside recycling collection, transportation and processing services on June 1, 2010 to refuse customers who subscribe to the city service. Red River will take over for Tulsa Refuse, Inc., which has been providing curbside recycling collection for the City since 1999.
Red River will collect commingled recyclables once every other week from Tulsa residents subscribing to the recycling collection service. Commodities accepted include ONP, third class mail, old magazines, office paper, most types of glass containers, HDPE and PET plastic and aluminum.
