Recycling Today magazine editor Brian Taylor has been added to the roster of speakers at the “Steel and Ferroalloys Conference,” to be held June 14-15 at the Renaissance Hotel in Pittsburgh.
Taylor’s Weds., June 15, presentation will address the current and projected global supply and demand situation of ferrous scrap.
Global steel and ferroalloys markets are the overall focus of the June conference, which is hosted by Platts Metals Week.
Speakers from a variety of metals companies and securities firms will address attendees interested in the future of the steel industry and alloying metals, including nickel, titanium, cobalt, silicon and molybdenum.
The conference’s keynote speaker is scheduled to be Louis Schorsch, president and CEO of the Ispat Inland Inc. operations of Mittal Steel. “We are delighted to have Louis Schorsch of Mittal Steel give the keynote for this important new conference,” remarks Steve McCarthy, head of the conference group at Platts. “Nobody in America is better qualified to address the challenges and opportunities for this dynamic and growing industry.”
Additional speakers have been drawn from Metal Management Inc., RTI Alloys, Falconbridge and China’s Shanxiang Minmetals.
Those seeking more information on the conference or wishing to register can visit the conference Web site at www.platts.com/Events/GB522/index.html or can call the Platts conference division at (866) 355-2930 (toll-free in the U.S.) or (781) 860-6100 (direct).
