The Recycling Today Media Group, a business unit of GIE Media Inc., Valley View, Ohio, has unveiled www.RecyclingTodayGlobal.com, the website for Recycling Today Global Edition, its bimonthly title serving the global scrap industry. The new website has been optimized for easier navigation, especially for Recycling Today Global Edition’s fastest-growing reader segment—mobile users.
Back issues and news from Recycling Today Global Edition used to be housed on the website of its sister publication Recycling Today at www.RecyclingToday.com. However, the Recycling Today Media Group took advantage of that site’s redesign to launch a standalone site for Recycling Today Global Edition.
“Recognizing that our readers consume Recycling Today Global Edition’s news and technical resources in many different electronic formats, the goal of this website launch was to organize and streamline our content for users, whether they are accessing it from an office computer, a tablet or a mobile phone,” says Recycling Today Global Edition Publisher James R. Keefe.
The end result is a website designed to offer high-quality graphics, enhanced news coverage and easier navigation. Highlights include:
- Mobile-friendly design. All articles, multimedia files (videos, podcasts, webinars, etc.) and other resources have been standardized in a format that is easy to access and that will function properly on most mobile devices.
- Enhanced news coverage. RecyclingToday.com has long been the go-to source for comprehensive, up-to-date news coverage on issues affecting the recycling industry. The new website for RecyclingTodayGlobal.com continues this tradition, featuring expanded news coverage accompanied by larger, higher-quality photos and graphics. Visitors can still access digital editions of the recent issue of the magazine as well as of past issues.
- Improved search engine. The latest version of RecyclingToday.com features enhanced search functionality aimed at simplifying the interface for users while providing rapid responses to reader inquiries. Recyclers now can access past news articles, product releases, feature stories, podcasts, webinars and other content quickly and easily with an “endless scrolling” feature designed to enhance the user experience.
- Industry resources. With the new website, visitors can still access recycling industry sector maps and lists, Management Science Associates’ Raw Material Data Aggregation Service data and the media group’s exclusive videos and podcasts, all of which can be downloaded on most mobile devices.
- More social media integration. In response to the growing use of social media tools, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, the redesigned RecyclingToday.com site will better allow its users to easily share RecyclingToday.com content across these platforms.
Keefe says the Recycling Today Media Group will continue to seek new ways to make its website fully supportive of the industry and he and other staff members welcome feedback on the redesigned site.
