The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) reports that June’s domestic consumption of recovered fiber stands at 2.6 million tons, a 6 percent increase from the same time last year. June’s consumption figure is essentially flat from the previous month.
For the first six months of the year, domestic recovered fiber increased by 8.2 percent from the same time in 2009.
While domestic use increased, the AF&PA reports that recovered fiber exports declined by 2.5 percent for May, compared to the prior month. For the first five months, exports are flat, compared to the same time last year.
